| The Auglaize County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD) operates the ABC Center (Advanced Beginnings Children's Center) for infants who are developmentally disabled or determined to be at risk of being developmentally disabled. The ABC Center is located seven miles south of St. Marys in New Bremen. | Auglaize Industries, Inc. is a modern workshop built in New Bremen in 1988 for the purpose of providing vocational training and work opportunities for adults with disabilities. There are currently 130 adult employees of Auglaize Industries who earn wages by performing contract work (assembly, packaging, drilling and tapping, microfilming, and collating) for most of Auglaize County's larger companies. Once trained, employees are encouraged to seek work opportunities within the community through Auglaize Industries' Community Employment Program. An evening and weekend recreation program complements the vocational program. Auglaize Industries is open throughout the year, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm. |
